BLDG 500 Renovations – Fort Riley, KS

This project was the seed project for a larger Historically Underutilized Business Zone Multiple Award Task Order Contract. The renovation of BLDG 500 included an entirely new HVAC system. The system was designed around a Variable Refrigerant Flow heat pump system with individual zoning in each room. The VRF system included 10 outdoor heat pumps with 133 indoor units, roughly 165 tons of heating and cooling. Mitsubishi was chosen as the equipment manufacture and the local equipment representative performed the design of the system, along with MAWP. Other equipment included (4) Dedicated Outdoor Air units, and (1) Air handling unit. The preservation of the buildings historic nature was priority in all aspects of design and installation.
